PSP GO USB-C Charging Port Modification Tutorial

This tutorial is used to modify the charging port of psp GO. After changing to USB TYPE-C interface, fast charging can be used and data can be transmitted quickly.
This modification is only for the USB-C kit sold by egamephone. The PSP GO customized interface and filler are used.

1.Use a hot air gun to remove the original interface of the PSP Go (recommended temperature is 350-380 degrees Celsius)

2. Use tin tape to clean the excess tin and ensure that the pad is flat

3.After the pad is flat, clean the motherboard with board washing water

4.Adjust the position of USB-C, and you can use the half holes on the left and right sides to position it

5.After the adjustment is completed, you can first weld a set of half holes on the left and right sides. Be careful not to move the position of the USB board during welding

6.After temporary fixation, add a little solder resist from the upper gap

7.Use tweezers to gently press the USB board, and heat the USB board with a hot air gun for installation (recommended temperature is 300 degrees Celsius)
Note; Since blind soldering is used, it is necessary to observe the tinning on the motherboard to determine whether the heating is sufficient, usually 20-30 seconds, that is, it cannot be heated for a long time.

8.After the USB board cools down, use a multimeter to test. Test method: Set the multimeter to the beeping position, and the test needle measures two points.
If it beeps, the circuit is conductive, if it does not beep, the circuit is not conductive.
Test 1, the following 3 sets of circuit tests need to be conducted

Test 2, the following four sets of circuit tests cannot be conducted.

9.After all the above tests are passed, weld the remaining half holes to complete the USB board fixation

10. After all welding is completed, clean it with board washing water

11.Trim the conflicting parts of the bottom edge strip

12.Trim the conflicting parts of the middle frame

13.Trim the conflicting parts of the back cover

14.Install the filler.
